Misr Al Kheir discusses ways to enhance the role of civil society organizations in contributing to sustainable development and climate action

Misr El Kheir Foundation organized a round table entitled “Proposed strategic directions to enhance the role of civil society organizations in sustainable development and climate action,” within the activities of the “Project Strengthening the roles of non-governmental organizations in sustainable development and climate action - funded by the European Union, in the presence of representatives of government agencies, international organizations, research bodies and civil society experts
Mohamed Mamdouh Abdullah, head of the NGO Development Sector at the Misr El Kheir Foundation, said that this second round table comes as a continuation of the community dialogue sessions with stakeholders from the organizations. Civil society and government and private sector officials in order to come up with proposed strategic directions to enhance the role of civil society organizations in contributing to sustainable development and climate action based on the field study that was conducted and the results of which were presented during the first meeting.
He added that the aim of the meeting is to present a summary of the results of the study “Means of enhancing the role of civil society organizations in achieving sustainable development and climate action”, and to present the main issues and challenges facing them. Civil society organizations in Egypt, analyzing the factors that contribute to these challenges, and formulating proposed strategic directions to enhance the role of civil society organizations in contributing to sustainable development and climate action, with the aim of developing the institutional performance of civil society organizations, participating in supporting national strategies concerned with sustainable development and climate action, and supporting regional and international participation.
